State Line Horn Duo
Inspired by their friendship and shared interest in the Kansas City arts scene, Brianna Volkmann and Jeremy Ulm founded the State Line Horn Duo in Fall of 2024.
The two met in the Fall of 2022, when Jeremy lived West of the Kansas-Missouri border, and Brianna East. The state line couldn’t separate them however, as the music community of Kansas City brought them together again and again. Currently, they are the acting Principal and Assistant Principal Horns of the Topeka Symphony Orchestra. In addition to maintaining their active freelance performing and teaching careers, the pair is passionate about expanding the horn duet repertoire with arrangements and commissions of various styles. They strive to provide engaging and accessible performances to the greater Kansas City area, and create educational materials which benefit the horn community.
